Fellowship Division...

The function of the Fellowship Division

The function of the Fellowship Division is to plan and implement activities which offer social and recreational opportunities. To provide, at least on a quarterly basis, congregational-wide events.

Examples include:
  Winter - progressive dinner
  Spring - picnic
Early Fall - potluck dinner after church
Late Fall - Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner

Note: Ordinarily, this last dinner is held in conjunction with an additional event such as the church Christmas pageant.

Other functions of the Fellowship Division include:

Provide snacks for children following church school, such as punch, cookies and crackers.

Provide a reception for new members following their joining. Ordinarily there are five such occasions per year.

Provide for a reception at other times upon request, e.g. Scottish Reformation Sunday. (Note, there are times when a reception will be provided by another group, e.g. Youth Fellowship for high school graduates.)

Be available to assist with or provide meals such as the every 4 to 5 years Lenten Luncheons or presbytery meetings.

Address congregational interest in recreational events such as softball and basketball. The “Time and Talent” files contain expressions of such areas of interest.
