The function of the Evangelism Division is primarily related to new members.
Respond to Sunday visitors on a timely and ongoing basis.
Host New Member Gatherings at least five times per year.
Distribute biographical information of new members to our Session requesting follow-up phone calls (re: integration into the life of this church) and report of findings to the Evangelism Division.
Ensure that there is a reception following worship on the Sundays that a New Member Gathering group joins.
Host a New Member Dinner at least yearly, usually in the fall.
The chair of the Evangelism Division contacts persons transferring membership from First Presbyterian Church to any local congregation. The purpose is to see what we have to learn about our ministry and to wish them well in their new church and to report findings to the Evangelism Division.
