Congregational Care Division...

35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37The shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

What is the Congregational Care Division?

The Congregational Care Division consists of a group of session members and members of the congregation who supervise and coordinate pastoral care opportunities for members, as well as attend to various other care and support opportunites within the congregation. Some of the areas of care include:

  • visiting the sick
  • sending get well cards and wishes to members
  • bringing gifts to new babies born into the congregation

Other functions of the Congregational Care Division include:

Develop and implement a "Pastoral Response Team" which contacts families of members who have experenced a death or other severe trauma.

  Maintain a "Prayer Chain".

Arrange for monthly contact with our home-bound members, those residing in assisted living facilities and nursing homes.

Arrange for follow-up notes to be written to the following: those having returned from the hospital, persons who have had a baby, persons attending college, persons graduating from college or other persons deemed appropriate.

Using the "Time and Talent" as well as the "Elder on Call" listing, be available to offer assistance, such as rides to church or to the doctor, when requested.
